Port City Pottery & Fine Crafts, in the historic Cotton Exchange in downtown Wilmington, is the first gallery in Wilmington dedicated exclusively to local, handmade, one-of-a-kind, three-dimensional art and craft by jury-selected coastal North Carolina artisans. We are excited to bring handmade items from Wilmington, NC to you! Your support of handmade at this time helps Galleries like ours to survive this Global Pandemicĭuring the COVID19 pandemic we are trying to offer new ways for our customers to find us. Each person works one day a week and does other tasks to help the gallery. This 1200 sqft cottage offers a large master bedroom with a king size bed, large master bathroom with walk in shower and Jacuzzi tub and walk in closet. This quaint cottage has been owned and taken care of by the original family. Today there are 20+ members who participate in our gallery. This Old Tyme Cottage was built in 1944 in the heart of Monkey Junction, Myrtle Grove area of Wilmington. The energy and excitement for this new adventure from the members have made the gallery the success it as been for the last 13 years.
I never felt like an outsider, and we often helped each other on projects. The managers were very supportive, and most of the employees worked as a team. In 2007 a group of seven local potters formed Port City Pottery & Fine Crafts, a cooperative gallery featuring all 3-D artisans. Old Time Pottery was a great place to work.
